LAPADA Charity Party
Since its creation in 2013, the LAPADA Charity Party has helped to raise 1.3 million pounds for charity. LAPADA is delighted to announce Action for Rehabilitation from Neurological Injury (ARNI) as their benefiting Charity for 2016. The Party will take place on Wednesday 14 September 2016.
ARNI has the support of a dynamic committee for the LAPADA Charity Party, chaired by Lord Lingfield and including the BBC Political Editor Andrew Marr who says:
“I’m delighted to be backing ARNI – real help, in real time, for ordinary people to whom something extraordinary and horrible has happened.”
“Action for Rehabilitation from Neurological Injury” (ARNI) works with stroke survivors and their families to enable the survivor to regain function that has been lost following a stroke.
In the UK, someone has a stroke every five minutes and 190,000 people have a stroke each year. It is the biggest disabler of all. ARNI provides an essential community-integration pathway and support network for people after hospital discharge by matching them with its specialist therapists and instructors who help over the long-term. At the moment there are 62 trainers and groups working in 23 regions of the UK. The ideal target for ARNI is to have one trainer within 5 miles of anyone suffering from stroke so that they are enabled to be self-sufficient as quickly as possible.
The ARNI Party at LAPADA will open at 6pm with a drinks reception in the Fair including champagne, Mr Fogg’s cocktails and canapés along with the opportunity to view the magnificent items on sale in the Fair. The ARNI Party provides an occasion to mix with colleagues, celebrities and friends and there will also be a raffle and the chance to bid electronically on the auction. The Party will continue at 9pm with dinner in the Fair Brasserie with a menu created by a celebrity chef and a live auction conducted by Philip Mould.
