Handel Hendrix House

Handel Hendrix House cares for and presents to the public the homes of two of the greatest musicians ever to have lived in London. George Frideric Handel lived at 25 Brook Street from 1723 until his death in 1759. In 1968, Jimi Hendrix moved into an adjoining flat at number 23.

We present these buildings as an evolving celebration of Handel and Hendrix’s lives, sharing their music, their stories and our collections as a source of learning, enjoyment and inspiration for all.

Fringe Event: Tour & Recital, Thursday 24 October, 18:00. £60 with complimentary drink

Step into history with a guided tour of the Handel Rooms, revealing the mysteries of our Grade-1 listed building. Jump ahead into the 1960’s on the third floor with a visit of the legendary Hendrix flat for a touch of rock ‘n’ roll and psychedlia. Then experience the vibrancy and intimacy of live music in this space as musicians perform music by Handel and his contemporaries. Satoko Doi-Luck and Alice Earll will be joining us for an intimate performance in the Dining room on our 18th century harpsichord.
