Beatrice Hodgkin, Deputy Editor, FT HTSI

Beatrice Hodgkin is deputy editor of HTSI, the FT’s weekend lifestyle supplement, where she specialises in commissioning and writing stories about the arts, philanthropy and wellbeing. She has also written several books about art, style and culture.

1. What motivated you to join the 2023 LAPADA Berkeley Fair Selection Committee?

LAPADA Chair Freya Simms and I had an impassioned conversation about the curation and quality of works after visiting a fair earlier this year – and it fired me up for more.

2. As a judge for the LAPADA Fair’s Best Stand and Object Awards, what specific qualities are you seeking in a winner?

Elegance and narrative: Something that catches the eye, but which holds your attention the more you discover the story behind it.
